Thank you for your interest in volunteering! Ghost Town is expanding its presence in the community and increasing the benefits that we offer to the community, and to accomplish our goals we will need your help! There are several ways you can be of service, including (but not necessarily limited to) the following:

Cleaning at the Gallery– This involves vaccuming, sweeping, dusting, taking out garbage, etc. in the spaces that Ghost Town occupies within the Ideation Station Building. To schedule a time to do some cleaning, drop us an email just to confirm the right day and time. Someone will meet you there to orient you about what to do, at least for the first time.

Painting/Construction Help- As you are aware, we have been incrementally re-styling the gallery and workshop spaces as time, manpower, and resources become available! If you’re good with a paintbrush, let’s see if we can find some paint! To schedule a time drop us an email just to confirm the right day and time. Someone will meet you there to orient you about what to do, at least for the first time.

Exhibition Support- It takes a tremendous amount of time and energy to close an exhibition and hang a new one! This is a great opportunity once per quarter to log a few hours and relive the stress on the Executive Board during these transition times.

Serve as a Docent- This is perhaps our biggest need. Docents allow for the gallery to be staffed during our posted hours. It is very important that someone welcome our guests when they come by. They could become clients, members or contributors! Docent hours can be scheduled in two hour increments during the gallery’s open hours by clicking the button below. And please don’t be intimidated- you don’t have to know everything about Ghost Town to serve as a docent. You just need to be friendly and practice saying this line: “I’m not sure of the answer to that question, but I’d be glad to find out and get back to you!” Before your first docent shift we’ll be sure and teach you everything else you’ll need to know.

Apprentice Members Hours Log

To receive credit for volunteer hours, apprentice members may complete this form each month. Please note that outside of docent hours, painting/construction hours, cleaning hours, and exhibition support time, all work plans should be discussed with the executive board and approved prior to completing the tasks.
